2017 Makeup Favorites

I have to be honest, I didn't do very much experimenting with makeup this past year (2017). I found a lot of my favorite products at the end of 2016 and stuck with them. However, at the end of 2017 and now into the beginning of 2018 I have been experimenting a lot more. You'll see a few new products that I have been loving in my December Favorites video. If you prefer to read, rather than watch, check out my December Favorites blog post.

Although I am now starting to switch it up, I still wanted to jump on here to chat about the products that I constantly used in 2017, because I'd still reach for this products today.

I'll go in the order in which I apply my makeup...

The POREfessional Face Primer - BENEFIT COSMETICS

This is a product that I actually find myself eager to grab only on special occasions. The reason for this is because there isn't a lot of product in the small tube, and I don't find it a necessity to have to constantly buy. However, when I do use the POREfessional Face Primer I feel it is a good base before applying foundation. It makes my pores disappear, allowing my foundation to look flawless. If you're looking to cover up your pores, I would recommend this for sure.

Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation - TARTE

As you all may already know from my 2018 Resolutions blog post, I never really suffered from severe acne or discoloration. Applying foundation use to be a part of my daily routine, until my mom and sister brought it to my attention that I didn't need it. That's when I kicked the daily liquid foundation routine to the curb. However, I still felt I needed something. I went to Sephora to see what they would recommend. That is when I discovered the Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. I like to apply a bit of concealer to problem areas and a bit under the eyes, then I go in with this. It gives me the perfect amount of coverage for everyday. It feels so light on the skin that I finally feel like my skin can breathe. I would definitely recommend setting this with a spay, because it can be a bit drying.

Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation - MAKE UP FOR EVER

I still like to apply a small amount of foundation whenever a special occasion rolls around. This is the perfect foundation for that because it allows for no white cast when taking pictures. You already know I like to take a lot of pictures during special occasions! This foundation has a very natural medium coverage. I will say though I find myself needing to powder again (I powder when I first apply the foundation) after a few hours of wear.

Fit Me Concealer - MAYBELLINE

If you are on the hunt for a inexpensive concealer, the Fit Me Concealer is your product! It is creamy, light and full coverage. It even adds a bit of glow to your skin when you buy a color below your normal skin tone. I mainly use this concealer to brighten my under eyes. However, I do still need to occasionally use to cover up blemishes or discoloration. If you are on the look out for THE BEST concealer currently, I would recommend Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer

Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Creme Highligher - BECCA

BECCA Cosmetics is the company that got me into highlights. They do it right. Whenever I wear this product, I am constantly getting complements. I love how subtle the glitter in the product is. It gives me a very natural glowy look.

Dipbrow Pomade - Anastasia Beverly Hills

My eyebrows have always been pretty thick. I don't really need a whole lot of product when it comes to the eyebrows. I have been using this pomade to just fill in a few gaps. I love how you can go very light with this or build it up.

Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - MAYBELLINE

This gel eyeliner gives you the perfect wing. It is thick and the perfect deep black. It also comes with a brush that allows you to apply your winged eyeliner perfectly. I would definitely recommend this product to winged eyeliner beginners.

Lash Sensational Mascara - MAYBELLINE

My favorite part of this product is the applicator. I like how think the bristles as short and fanned out. It allows me to get in close and apply product to each lash. It's not too thick and it is easily buildable.

All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray - URBAN DECAY

Remember how I mentioned that having a good setting spray is key when applying powder foundation? I would definitely recommend using a setting spray when you know you'll be wearing your makeup look for long hours. I love how this spray makes my complexion look after applying make up. It gives me a glow without making my face look oily. It also does a good job in keeping my makeup on all day.
